A Stonehurst At Hampton Valley Wedding

I can’t talk enough about this wedding from Stonehurst at Hampton Valley that Lex and Curtis had! One of my absolute favorite fall weddings from 2024. The day was filled with just solid vibes. For instance, as soon as I arrived at Stonehurst, one of my favorites wedding venues btw, to go say hello to Lex, there was already Disney metal music playing in the background. Rock on, hell yes, more of that please!

The awesome vibes did not stop there, they only got better. For starters, Lex’s dress from Michele-A Bridal Boutique was out of this freaking world. Curtis and his groomsmen relaxed while getting ready by playing some Foosball and playing some guitar. Curtis can absolutely SHRED! And in fact he even preformed a special song he wrote just for Lex at their reception. The ceremony was lit by some seriously amazing golden sun. They danced their hearts out, partied with guests, sprayed some champagne, and had a heck of a sparkler exit.

Lex and Curtis, thank you two so much for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. It was defiantly a wedding day that I will remember. We might have started as acquaintances, but we ended as great friends.

Stonehurst at Hampton Valley Couples Questions

Meeting and talking to my couples before the wedding day is how I learn all about them, their needs, wants, and what moments they are excited for most. But after the wedding I like do a post wedding Q&A to get their perspective on how the day felt to them.

Q: What is one memory from your wedding day that you never want to forget?
Lex – Walking down the aisle. Seeing Curt’s reaction as the first time he sees me in my wedding dress. Being able to walk down the aisle with my brother. It was a very special part of the day for me.

Q: What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Curtis – Marrying my beautiful wife Lex and sharing this special moment with all of our friends and family.

Q: What is the most memorable moment that involved the two of you together?
Lex – One of my most memorable moments was the champagne shoot. It was a lot of fun!

Q: If you could describe your wedding day in three words, what would they be?
Lex – Fun, Magical, Energetic.

Q: Was there anything that surprised you about your wedding day?
Lex – How smooth everything went.

Q: Were there any family members or friends that provided a really special memory for you?
Lex – The brother/sister and mother/son dances were very special.

Q: Was there anything Ladman Studios did for you that specifically stood out or was helpful to you?
Lex – You all did a wonderful job. We loved some of the out of the box shots that you took. The team was everywhere, getting all kinds of angles of us and our guests. Many guests talked to us on the day and afterwards and let us know what a great job you all did.

Q: What inspired your wedding decor? Did you have a theme in mind?
Lex and I love the colors blue (Curtis) and purple (Lex) when paired together, just like us. We are also a big fan of nature, stars, constellations, and the beautiful colors that appear during sighting of the Aurora Borealis. We based our decor on these elements that have the wonderfully moody colors of blue, purple, and gold.

Q: Why did you pick the venue that you choose?
We picked the Stonehurst Mansion as our wedding venue because it felt very natural and played right into our interests and comforts. We loved the rural scenic setting of the property combined with the modern aesthetic of the mansion inside and out. It was the perfect venue for our wedding and the staff was amazing! We would recommend this venue to anyone seeking the same accommodations.

Q: Is there any particular vendor that you are really exited to have for you wedding?
We were really excited to have our engagement shoot photographer, TJ and his team from Ladman Studios, also shoot our wedding. We knew from our past experience that it would be professional, fun, exciting, and the quality of his work is epic! Ladman Studios always goes above and beyond to meet our expectations, take the stress out of the equation, and offer us a great product at fair prices.

Q: Tell us about the food/drink at your wedding
Silver plated style dinner service from Stonehurst’s in house vendor Black Dog Bar and Grill was excellent! You cant go wrong and our family loved the food!

Q: Which part of your wedding did you want to WOW your guests with?
We wanted to WOW our guests with the whole wedding event from start to finish really. We worked hard to design a compelling wedding that veered away from traditional styles to entertain our guests. From our humorous wedding story during the ceremony, a love song played live to the bride before dinner, energetic personalized dance floor music playlist, and a bonfire outside with s’mores for everyone to enjoy. It was the perfect day and we wouldn’t change a thing!
