To close out my 2024 wedding season, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Matt & Jill’s wedding at The Pavilion on Crystal Lake — a venue I’ve had on my bucket list for a while. And yes, as a Friday the 13th fan, I was extra stoked. But beyond the venue’s amazing spots for creative shots, it was Matt and Jill who truly made this one for the books.
From the moment they booked in early 2023, I knew their day would be something special. Their connection? Absolutely infectious. Matt’s a guitarist who can shred with the best of them, and having guests sign a guitar at the reception was such a cool, personal touch. Jill’s hair, makeup, and dress were effortlessly stunning and reminded me of the 1930/40s. I’m a sucker for that era’s vibe, and she nailed it.
After an evening of killer food, dancing, and great company, we took to the outdoors ( 17 degrees mind you ) for some romantic night portraits. This is easily one of my favorite parts of the day because its one of the few time you as a couple get to spend actual time together on your wedding day.
Matt and Jill, thank you for trusting me to capture your day. I can’t wait for your photo premiere!
