Lincoln & Monica — A Surprise Proposal at Gouveia Vineyards
There’s a fine art to not looking suspicious while you’re waiting for someone to drop to one knee in the middle of a vineyard. Me and Amber rolled into Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford about 45 minutes early to scope things out, double-check the light, and — most importantly — make sure no randoms were loitering in Lincoln’s chosen spot.
He had a plan. A specific location. A moment he’d been building toward. And all he needed from us was to not stick out like two weirdos with cameras. This is where Amber is clutch. We wandered the property like we were just there for the views. No big deal. Nothing to see here.
And then — it happened. The slow walk down to the dock. The sudden drop to one knee. The pure shock and joy on Monica’s face. The hug that said “yes” before words did.
What followed was pure happiness. They laughed. They kissed. Monica flashed the ring like a proud champion. And we wandered the vines capturing the kind of moments you feel when you look back — not just see. A few months later we did it all over again on their Engagement Side Quest — same energy, this time with no hiding.
