If you’re looking for a Connecticut wedding venue that offers affordability, flexibility, and historical charm, look no further than Hope Lodge. This DIY wedding venue offers two separate floors that can be rented individually or together, making it perfect for intimate gatherings or larger celebrations. Plus, with its unique history and rustic charm, it’s sure to create a memorable experience for you and your guests.
Built-in 1888, Hope Lodge’s rich history began as a mill worker’s residence. Over the years, it has been used as The Polish National Home and a VFW before being transformed into the fully customizable venue it is today. The original wooden ceiling and tinted windows are still in place, providing a rustic ambiance that is perfect for any event.
The lower level of Hope Lodge is perfect for smaller gatherings or even micro wedding receptions accommodating up to 80 seated or 100 standing guests. It features a bar area, restrooms, a kitchenette, and a charming bridal suite with rustic lighting and plenty of mirrors. The barn sliding door and exposed black posts add to the cozy and rustic feel of the space.
The upper level of Hope Lodge is the way to go for larger celebrations. With a capacity of up to 170 seated guests or 200 standing guests, it offers a spacious area with tall wooden ceilings, exposed beams, and a stunning chandelier. The stage and kitchen area with an industrial warmer makes it a great option for events that require catering. Additionally, full AC and heat keep the space comfortable no matter the season.
Hope Lodge has an outdoor area as well. It’s surrounded by trees and decorative fencing, making it the perfect spot for some beautiful wedding photographs.
Hope Lodge is available from 9 am to 11 pm, with the option to extend your rental for a fee. Cleanup is easy and hassle-free for a fee of $100 per floor. You only need to remove what you brought, and the rest will be taken care of.
Hope Lodge has no hidden fees, and all prices are transparent. The retainer fee includes tables and chairs, and it’s $250 for a single floor or $350 for both. The retainer is returned 30 days after your event. In addition, the venue is fully DIY, so you have complete control over every event detail.
If you plan on serving alcohol, your bartending vendor must have at least one day of insurance coverage. The venue only books one event per day, ensuring that your celebration will be the only one in the building. The venue can also accommodate an indoor ceremony. And it’s not just weddings – Hope Lodge is perfect for corporate events, birthday parties, reunions, and holiday parties. Photographers can also rent the venue for photo shoots.
Owners Susie and Liza are committed to making your event successful while working within your budget. They will work with you to create the wedding or event of your dreams, ensuring you can relax and enjoy your special day with your guests.
